The home office that works is rarely the one with the most equipment. It is the one where you can sit down, start, and not think about the furniture. Three moves get most people there.
Face the light, not the wall
Turn the desk so daylight comes from the side. Facing a window is glare, facing a wall is a cell. Side light is the reason libraries have tall windows.

One lamp, aimed
Overhead light is for cleaning. For work you want a single adjustable lamp that puts a pool of light on the page and nowhere else. It also tells the rest of the room that this corner is in use.
Give the paper a home
Most desk clutter is paper waiting to be dealt with. A two-drawer cabinet on castors under the desk takes all of it and rolls away when the day is done.

Desk, lamp, drawer. Everything else is decoration, and decoration is optional.
