The site
The dunes behind the beach at Jæren move a little every winter, and the grass that holds them in place is protected.
The three cabins stand in a hollow between dune ridges, placed where old fishing sheds once stood so no new ground was disturbed. They rest on timber piles above the sand, which lets the wind carry it underneath instead of piling it against the walls.

The building
Each cabin is a simple timber gable, stained almost black, with its long side turned to the wind.
The roofs come low on the seaward side and lift toward the dunes, where a deep window looks into the grass. Inside are one room, a sleeping loft and a small bathroom, lined in pale spruce. The three are set at slight angles to one another, so no window looks into another and each guest has the beach to themselves.
