The fog sat on the fjord for most of January. We used the quiet to open the studio doors.
Our winter open day drew more people than the room could comfortably hold. Neighbours, former clients, students from the school of architecture and a few walkers who saw the lamps on and came in out of the cold. We cleared the big drawing table and laid out the working drawings, sketchbooks and section models for the projects now on site, and let people lean over them with coffee in hand.
The questions were the best part. Why the windows at Havhuset are so low. Why we leave the timber untreated. Whether the reindeer would really use the tower.
We can also share that the studio has taken on new commissions for 2027: a small library for a coastal municipality in Helgeland, and a family house on a steep orchard slope in Hardanger. Both are at the walking and listening stage. We will write about them here as they take shape.
